WHO WE ARE
Powell
Global Attorney Search was founded by John Davis Powell, a former practicing
attorney. John received his Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum
laude, in 1992 in Psychology and Sociology from the University of North
Carolina at Greensboro. He received his law degree, cum
laude, from Tulane Law School in 1998. After law school, John
spent several years practicing litigation with a number of Houston’s
most well-respected law firms before finding his true calling as a legal
recruiter.
John began his recruiting career in 2004 with the Houston office of Major, Hagen & Africa (now Major, Lindsey & Africa), one of the nation’s oldest and largest legal recruiting firms. In 2005, he was offered the opportunity to open the Houston office of BCG Attorney Search, another well-respected national legal recruiting firm. In 2006, John formed Powell Global Attorney Search in order to provide the legal community with a more personal level of service.
John has been invited to speak about the legal market at Tulane Law School in New Orleans and Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in Dallas.
John
is an avid cyclist. He has participated in the Houston to Austin BP MS150
and raced for Gulf Coast Cycling Association.
